Former President Jacob Zuma To Attend State Capture Inquiry

Almost a year after hearings began former president of South Africa Jacob Zuma is set to attend the judicial inquiry into state capture that was commissioned during his time in government. According to his lawyer, Daniel Mantsha, Zuma is set to attend between the dates of July 15 and 19.

It is not yet clear whether the former president will testify or answer questions before the commission, however, and he has been highly critical of its work to date.

Zuma has been implicated in the testimony of several witnesses who have appeared to date, including by former ministers and government officials.

He is yet to respond in detail to the allegations. However, he has accused the commission of being politicised and questioned its impartiality.

Zuma stood down from the presidency in February 2018 following a strong of scandals.
