Lesotho Parties Sign Reform Agreement
Political parties in Lesotho this week signed an agreement that provides for the creation of a National Legislative Reform Authority. The body will be tasked with overseeing the process of national reform covering governance, security and media.
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, who serves as the Southern African Development Community (SADC) facilitator on the process, was also present for the signing.
Speaking on the occasion President Ramaphosa stated, "The Basotho people can celebrate the convergence of consensus that has led to this historic agreement and has built a strong foundation for reforms to go ahead."
President Ramaphosa also met with King Letsie III during his visit.
