Presidents Masisi, Lourenço Conduct Bilateral Consultations

President of Botswana Mokgweetsi Masisi and President of Angola João Lourenço are this week engaging in bilateral consultations.

President Masisi arrive in Angola on Tuesday August 13, accompanied by the Minister of Defense, Foreign Affairs and Environment and several other officials. The delegation is expected to return to Botswana on Wednesday evening.

Botswana and Angola maintain close ties since the signing of a General Cooperation Agreement in 2006.

Both countries are members of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). They are also both involved in the Okavango/Zambezi cross-border tourism project along with Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia.
