Vimbai Tsvangirai-Java Dies Following Car Crash

Zimbabwean MP Hon. Vimbai Tsvangirai Java has died following a car crash last month during which she sustained serious and ultimately fatal injuries. Two other Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) party members were killed during the accident in Kwekwe, Zimbabwe.

Tsvangirai-Java was the daughter of former Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) founder and leader Morgan Tsvangirai, who died from cancer last year. Her mother, Susan Tsvangirai, also died in a car crash in 2009 when her father was also injured.

Tsvangirai-Java was recently elected the Women’s Assembly Secretary General for the MDC-Alliance and served as the MP for Glen View South constituency.
