Namibia Unveils US$330mn Renewable Energy Investment
Namibia Power (NamPower) has this week unveiled plans to build four renewable energy plants during the next five years.
Costing an estimated 4.7billion Namibian dollars the plants with use biomass, solar and wind energy to generate 220 megawatts of power.
The plans were announced by NamPower managing director Kahenge Haulofu who indicated that new Corporate Strategy and Business Plan 2019-2023 had already been approved with implementation effective from July 1.
As it stands the state run utility imports 60 per cent of its supply, mainly from South Africa.
