Bipa workers to get salary increase

The Business and Intellectual Property Authority (Bipa) and the Namibia Public Workers’ Union on Thursday signed a wage agreement for the 2026/27 financial year.

The agreement provides for a salary adjustment effective from 1 April and introduces employer contributions towards employees’ medical aid for the first time.

Bipa says the salary adjustment and medical aid contributions will be implemented on or before 25 August.

Bipa chief executive Ainna Kaundu says the agreement was the result of negotiations between the two parties.

“This agreement reflects what can be achieved through mutual respect, good-faith negotiations and a shared commitment to the well-being of our employees and the long-term sustainability of our organisation. Our people remain at the heart of Bipa’s success and our ability to deliver quality services to the nation,” she says.
